Speaking of helmets… Dockless in Australia
24 October, 2017
I was writing previously about helmets in station-based schemes. But the development of dockless bike-sharing in Australia, with Ofo recently launching 400 bikes in Sydney, raised the same question for providers:
- Do I have to provide helmet with my bike?
- How can I provide it?
Most of the companies, Ofo included, answered yes to the first question. We can easily understand that not providing one will decrease the number of potential users.
For the how, the easiest way: helmets will be attached to the lock on each bike. I wonder how they will manage to assure that each bike is always equiped with it… Well companies are still looking for a better technological solution.
Just a humble reminder to lock back the helmet after trip and park properly.#oBike #Sydney #Melbourne #HelmetLaw pic.twitter.com/H8Tg1KBZY4
